The following are guidelines to help contributors understand what they need to do to have a chance at publication. If a contributor does not follow these guidelines, often, their contribution will be rejected out-right.
{dont forget to read the rules too!}
In General
The general rule of thumb for any article written and submitted to this site is that it should be mostly objective information and relatively good writing. There is some room for opinion, but not a sales pitch (see below). Although contributors are not expected to be professional journalists, a reasonably good command of English grammar and spelling is important.
Latitude
Obviously the editor will allow for some errors and does not expect perfection, however; poor sentence structure, usage, syntax, and other basic writing essentials will be considered for rejection. If a contribution is poorly written it may be rejected on that basis. If it has some error and can be easily edited and corrected, it will most likely pass the language test.
Factual and Objective
The articles on this site are intended to be factual, verifiable, objective and neutrally presented. This is not a venue for advertising within the content pages. Because such article websites are prone to abuse by SEO spam, we restrict the use of backlinks. Backlinks are acceptable and reasonable to use, but filling articles with them can be grounds for rejection even if the article is otherwise good.
Citations
Citations are required when quoting or noting a factual-claim. If you were to write, “a lot of Americans are fat”, that is an opinion based on fact and not a factual-claim. However, if you were to write, “35% of Americans are considered obese.” , that is a factual-claim that must be based on something other than opinion. You must put a footnote in your article when making such a claim. Proper English footnote format is necessary. Citations may be back-linked to the source at the editors discretion. Footnote should follow the Turabian standard .
Opinion and Subjectivity
Unless you are writing a mathematics thesis, no one can be completely objective. Writers may interject some opinion and or subjectivity in their writing style, however; out-right advertising language and sales pitches are not allowed. Purely subjective opinion writing is not allowed either. For example, if you were to write about how you hate the Ford Motor company, and all about your bad experiences with your Ford, we don’t care about that and won’t print it. However, if you do a research paper about customer satisfaction with Ford vehicles based on citable facts, that’s wonderful!
Inappropriate
Any subject matter the editor deems unfit for publication will be rejected. We want to build quality content and welcome many articles, but things dealing with adult-subject matter will not make it onboard. The editor reserves the right to discard anything he/she doesn’t like… and that’s that.
Use common sense and don’t waste your time or ours ignoring all of these guidelines and rules, otherwise you won’t accomplish anything here. Be respectful of the site and do not abuse it and you can become a contributor.
Yours truly,
